Prior to starting Uncharted Homes, Dakota and Dane led the acquisitions and renovations of a $600m institutional real estate fund that purchased 100s of SFRs across the US.
As a team, Dakota & Dane are focused on what they see as the best opportunity in SFR; sub-institutional target markets with a focus on long term holds for generational wealth building.
Dane has a huge passion for real estate and has spent the last 6 years working in the prop tech industry helping grow and scale companies such as Opendoor, Orchard, and Bungalow. Most recently, he oversaw a field operations team that helped deploy over $200 million in capital to purchase single family homes as well as $5 million in renovations completed.
He is also an avid investor himself involved in house flipping and his own rental portfolio In Colorado.
In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his wife, cheering on the Denver sports teams, and staying active outdoors.
Born & raised in Colorado, Dakota, who also goes by 'Cody' has been influenced heavily by sports (huge Denver Nuggets fan), entrepreneurship, and real estate throughout his life. As a former college basketball player, he prides himself on hard work, staying optimistic, and working towards a life of financial freedom.
What started out as a side hustle in Portland to sell some homes, has turned into a career. Now licensed in 3 states, 'Cody' also owns four rental units that all have distinct strategies and characteristics.
Over the last 4 years, Dakota was the Director of Acquisitions at Bungalow. There he was named the '2022 MVP' for his efforts in leading & defining the institutional SFR product for the company focused on urban SFR co-living.
Nowadays, he splits his time between Miami, Austin, and Denver because he enjoys being on the move and prioritizing his family & friendships.
